The New Vintage 1969 was released to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the legendary El Primero: the first high-frequency automatic chronograph launched in 1969. This model pays direct tribute to the original A384 case design, one of Zenith’s most recognizable shapes, now executed in lightweight titanium for a modern, wearable feel.
The partially skeletonized dial reveals the El Primero’s beating heart at 36,000 vph, showing the column wheel and chronograph mechanism in motion. It’s a striking display of mechanical depth and heritage, blending vintage inspiration with a contemporary edge.
This example is in excellent overall condition with light wear only. The case and crystal are clean, and the chronograph runs smoothly. The watch comes with its original warranty card (partially faded over time), two high-quality non-OEM rubber straps, and the original Zenith titanium deployant clasp.
The New Vintage 1969 remains one of the coolest modern El Primeros, limited, lightweight, and historically significant. A proper collector’s chronograph that connects directly to Zenith’s 1969 legacy while standing out as a bold, everyday piece.
