Introduced at Baselworld 2013, the Rolex GMT-Master II Ref. 116710BLNR made horological history as the world’s first watch to feature a single-piece, bi-color ceramic bezel—a manufacturing feat previously deemed impossible by the industry. Universally christened the "Batman" by collectors due to its black and blue night/day Cerachrom insert, this reference on the classic Oyster bracelet was officially discontinued in 2019.

Finding an example today that remains in completely unpolished, single-owner condition with its original store purchase receipt is exceptionally rare. This piece represents the purest collector opportunity for the purist who values untouched factory case lines and bulletproof provenance.

The Craft: 904L "Super Case" & Manufacture Calibre 3186 Engine

The 40mm case is forged from Rolex's ultra-durable 904L Oystersteel, showcasing the bold "Super Case" geometry with thick lugs and a solid Triplock screw-down crown. The bidirectional 24-hour bezel features the patented blue and black Cerachrom ceramic insert, with platinum-coated graduations recessed into the scratchproof surface.

The black gloss Maxi dial features enlarged 18K white gold hour indices and hands filled with blue Chromalight luminescence. A vibrant royal blue GMT hand sweeps the dial, allowing effortless tracking of a second time zone against the 24-hour bezel, balanced by a date aperture under the 2.5x Cyclops magnifier at 3 o'clock.

Beneath the solid caseback beats the renowned Manufacture Rolex Calibre 3186. Fitted with Rolex's proprietary blue Parachrom hairspring and a Breguet overcoil for high shock resistance and magnetic immunity, this COSC-certified chronometer provides an independent jumping local hour hand—enabling rapid time-zone adjustments while traveling without stopping the movement. It offers a 48-hour power reserve and a professional water resistance rating of 100 meters (330 feet).
