The Story

The A. Lange & Söhne Saxonia Thin is the purest expression of Saxon watchmaking: a study in restraint, precision, and uncompromising craftsmanship. At just 5.9 mm thick, it is the manufacture’s thinnest timepiece, designed for the collector who values discretion over display. Crafted in 18k white gold, the minimalist argenté dial—made from solid silver—features only hours and minutes, resulting in a perfectly balanced aesthetic that defines the modern dress watch.

The Craft

Beneath the silver dial lies the in-house Calibre L093.1, a manual-wind movement that represents the pinnacle of German engineering. Visible through the sapphire caseback, it showcases the traditional Glashütte three-quarter plate in untreated German silver, hand-engraved balance cocks, and gold chatons secured by blued screws. Even in its thinnest execution, Lange maintains its legendary double-assembly process and hand-finishing, making it as much a work of art as a timekeeper.

Condition & Set

This 2019 example is presented in Very Good condition and, crucially, remains unpolished, preserving its original factory case lines. It shows gentle, honest signs of wear consistent with light use. The watch is offered as a Complete Full Set, including the original box and papers. Please note that while the watch is exceptional, the outer layer of the leather travel case shows some peeling due to age—a common characteristic for this period's accessories.
